Curto Funeral Friday The funeral of Paul J. Curto, former Springfield Plumbing Inspector will be Friday morning at the George B. Tazzini and 'Son funeral home with a Mass of the resurrection in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Curto died Monday at Springfield Hospital Medical Center after three weeks of hospitalization. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death. He had served as the chief inspector for 26 years until his retirement in 1970. He leaves his wite, Mrs. Emma A.

(Mercolino) Curto; two sons, Anthony and John of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Caughlin of Springfield and Mrs. Annette Gillings of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Nicholas of Springfield, and Basil of West Springfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Ucella of Springfield, and Sister Cecelia of the Daughters of Mercy Order in Pennsylvania. John J.

Langan John J. Langan, 67, of 218 Pearl died Tuesday in Wesson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Amesbury Aug. 15, 1903. For many years he was a bus driver with the New England Transportation Co.

and also the White Circle Bus Line, retiring several years ago. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Odessa H. (Cavanna) Langan; a son, James J. of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs.

Helen M. Merkham of Springfield and Mrs. Jacqueline M. Cabon of Palmer. The funeral will be at the State Street parlors of T.

P. Sampson Co. Thursday morning with a solemn Mass of the Resurrection in St. Michael's Cathedral. Burial will be in St.

Michael's Cemetery. Mrs. Mertha Davis Mrs. Mertha L. (Chambers) Davis, 64, of 647 Union St.

died Monday in St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn. She was born in Salisbury, N. C. July 29, 1906 and had been a resident of Springfield for the past 41 years.

She was employed as a supervisor for the Hathaway Steaine Tobacco Co. for many years, retiring a few years ago. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God in Christ. She leaves her husband, Clarence B. Davis Sr.

of Newark, N. a son, Clarence B. Jr. in Hartford, one daughter, Mrs. Tremane Hines also of Hartford; two brothers, George Chambers of Salisbury, N.

C. and Demont Chambers of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Sanders, also of Springfield. Funeral will be from the Byron funeral Thursday. Burial in Oaki Grove Cemetery.

Miss Rita D. Jolin Miss Rita D. Jolin, 40, Turner Park, died yesterday in Springfield; Hospital Medical Center. She! was born in Berlin, N.H. and had lived in Longmeadow for the past six years.

He was born in East Longmeadow, May 6, 1910 and attended elementary schools in Springfield.

He graduated from the Augusta Military Academy in Virginia in 1929, and attended Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. A 16-year veteran of the U. S. Army, Ilarley served in World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring as a major of Army Ordnance. He worked for 10 years with the International Telephone and Telegraph in Alaska.

He also worked as a field service representative for Conso idated Diesel of Greenwich Conn. He was a member of the Veterans of the 7th regiment in New York City N. Y. and the American Ordnance Association. He leaves his wife, Frederica (Stelle) Harley of Springfield; two sons, Purves Harley, Jr.

of Springfield and Thomas J. of Spring Valley, N. a daughter, Frederica A. of Springfield and a brother, Robert L. Harley of St.
