Star Wars Hunters offers three types of character roles — these include Tanks, Support, and Damage. Tanks will be great at introducing a strong presence that can upset the flow of an enemy team, while Supports can help other players win an exchange they would have otherwise lost. However, Damage characters will contribute the most towards depleting enemy life bars.

There are numerous options available when deciding on a Damage character, such as the anchor ledge locations on the game's different maps. Some favor close-range, while others do well to keep their distance from their enemies. Players will also need to decide if they want a character that is easier to play than others, or if they will put in the time to master one of the better, trickier options.

6 J-3DI

An Easy To Play Close-Range Damage Dealer

J-3DI is a pun on the word “Jedi”, which is what this droid has been programmed to believe they are. They are armed with a lightsaber and melee playstyle, with a kit that compliments this setup. They have abilities that can block melee attacks, deflect ranged ones, and pull their targets closer to them — not with the Force, but with a grappling arm.

As they take damage, J-3DI can recover parts they drop to heal themselves, making them one of the more tanky damage dealers in the game. Their Ultimate lets them charge right into the fray to deal a massive amount of damage. J-3DI is quite easy to pick up and play, but this simplicity makes other Hunters more versatile.

5 Utooni

Great For Locking Down A Point

Star Wars Hunters oozes style through its colorful cast of characters, which includes two Jawas in a trench coat who fight as a single Hunter. Depending on the player’s needs, Utooni can swap between a pair of weapons to keep enemies unsure of what is coming their way. The first is a short-range Arc Caster, the second is a Pulse Blaster for when they need a bit more range.

Utooni also have abilities that push enemies back and pull enemies where they want them, giving them a lot of control on the battlefield. It is best to know the ins and outs of the game's basics before trying out this trickier character. They have access to a powerful laser beam Ultimate, and will drop a grenade when they die. This makes them perfect for players who plan on holding down areas.

4 Aran Tal

An Attacker With High Mobility

Aran Tal is a Mandalorian designed for players who want to be mobile while dishing out damage. He makes use of two fast-firing Dual Blaster Pistols, which can be fired while dashing with his jetpack. This dash comes in the form of a burst of speed in a single direction or as a leap with a blazing slam at the end.

Having this level of mobility makes Aran Tal fun to play in every game mode. He also has a flamethrower that can hit enemies in a straight line or burn the battlefield as he hovers in the air. This is the ideal character for players wanting to run and gun through matches.

3 Imara Vex

Early All-Rounder

Imara Vex is a well-rounded character who is ideal for any player wanting to fill the Damage role. She is also the first character to be unlocked, giving those who commit to playing her a fast road to maxing out her Hunter Fame before any other character's. She is a long-range attacker that can use her passive to reveal enemies who are low on health, making her perfect for flanking.

Her active abilities let her fire a heavy-damage rocket and grapple for use with anchor ledges. Her Ultimate lets her release a volley of rockets to clear a Control Point of enemies from a safe distance. Players can’t go wrong with this character, and her customization options will even let players see the face underneath the helmet.

2 Diago

The Best All-Rounder

Star Wars is no stranger to characters with an outlaw/gunslinger motif, and Diago brings another incarnation of this style to Star Wars Hunters. He makes use of the Slugthrower Rifle, which works similar to a bolt-action rifle in other games. Shots from this gun cannot be deflected by lightsabers, making him great at taking down enemy players using Rieve and J-3DI. His kit is similar to that of Imara Vex, but his playstyle is different.

Diago has an active ability that will reveal any and all enemies, not just those low on health, giving him an edge over Imara Vex's detection passive. He also can place mines when going around corners that enemies can trigger, dealing damage and knockback. Diago can also grapple to anchor ledges to make a quick getaway. His Ultimate lets him fire several high-damage shots, each capable of hitting multiple enemies. Fans of Imara Vex should work towards unlocking Diago as soon as possible.

1 Rieve

The Best Close Range Damage Dealer

J-3DI has a simple kit and is easy to play, but for players looking to ramp up their game with the best melee Damage character, they try their hand at using Rieve. Rieve wields a red lightsaber and has an aggressive playstyle. She can dash forward at high speeds to damage nearby enemies and get within range for follow-up attacks. If the targeted enemy uses an ability to dodge out of the way, Rieve can instead follow up by throwing her lightsaber to make sure she hits them anyway.

If she is really far away, Rieve can use her lightsaber to deflect projectiles while closing the gap; this same ability can also block melee attacks. While J-3DI can pull in a single enemy with their arm, Rieve’s Ultimate lets her tap into the real power of the Force to stun all enemies in a wide area of effect and pull them all in for her to slash through. Rieve is not the easiest character to play, but those who take the time to master her will dominate matches.
