Sheet Pan Kielbasa Dinner Recipe

When I was talking to Carrian (Cade here, nice to see you all!) about what a busy year we have ahead of us since signing on to tour with Time Out For Women, she mentioned that she didn’t want family dinner to suffer. I agree with her, making the decision ahead of time that we will always sit down as a family for dinner is really important. We want healthy one-pan dinners to make appearances too as that will help keep us full in the right ways, which is why we are sharing our sheet pan honey garlic kielbasa and potatoes with broccoli recipe with you today!

Sweet potatoes and a mixture of potatoes (like purple, golden Yukon, etc.) help this dish fill you up so you won’t be reaching for a snack after dinner. The broccoli adds a layer of freshness and variety in color, and, as we all know, adding more color to our plates is not only good for vitamins and nutrients but your brains actually respond to the food more which helps you not send signals later that you aren’t satisfied.

Broccoli doesn’t need all the time that the other ingredients need though, so make sure you don’t throw that on until the last 10 minutes.

The honey garlic sauce is only going on the meat as well. I learned an important lesson years and years ago with Carrian that the seasoning, if it’s really good, doesn’t need to go on everything. I made lemon pepper chicken with lemon pepper potatoes and lemon pepper broccoli and though she tried to eat it and never mentioned how bad it was, we were soon coughing from so much pepper and everything tasted the same, which wasn’t good. I guess there really is too much of a good thing.

What’s in This Kielbasa and Potatoes Recipe?

We wanted to keep this kielbasa dinner recipe as simple as possible, so we used all pantry staples to whip up this quick meal. Here’s what goes into this kielbasa recipe with potatoes and broccoli:

  • Pork kielbasa
  • Sweet potato
  • Other potatoes (your choice!)
  • Broccoli
  • Olive oil
  • Unsalted butter
  • Honey
  • Garlic
  • Dijon mustard
  • Dried basil and oregano

What is Kielbasa?

Kielbasa is a Polish sausage that’s usually flavored with garlic. It’s either hot or cold smoked, though today you’ll find it most often hot smoked. The meat is usually cured and then has garlic and spices added to it.

How to Cook Kielbasa in the Oven

Cooking kielbasa on a sheet pan is easy peasy. Here are the basic steps to mastering this recipe:

  1. Whisk together the honey garlic sauce in a bowl.
  2. Oil the sheet pan and spread out the chopped potatoes in a single layer. Toss with more olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the sliced kielbasa to the sheet pan and brush with all but 2 tablespoons of sauce.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, then add broccoli to the sheet pan and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Brush the kielbasa with the remaining sauce just before serving. Enjoy!

Can I Use Different Veggies in This Sheet Pan Recipe?

Absolutely! You definitely don’t have to use the same veggies we did, we just loved how the Polish kielbasa sausage paired with the root vegetables. However, you could use asparagus, carrots, or any other veggies you have on hand.

Can I Double This Kielbasa Recipe?

Have more mouths to feed? You can definitely double this recipe, but you’ll want to split the ingredients between two sheet pans and rotate them in the oven halfway through baking. If you try to cram the ingredients onto one sheet pan, you’ll overcrowd the pan and the veggies will steam instead of roast.

Tips for Cooking Kielbasa and Potatoes

We still serve this kielbasa dinner recipe with a side salad just to freshen things up even more. Grains like rice and quinoa also pair nicely with this sheet pan dinner. But this truly is so filling on its own — and what’s the point in a one-pan dinner if you’re going to do even more work?

In the same vein of keeping this kielbasa recipe as simple as possible, note that you don’t have to peel the sweet potatoes before roasting them. Just give them a thorough wash under warm water and pat dry before dicing them. The skin is packed with nutrients!

This sheet pan recipe is best the day it’s made, but leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.
