Easy Mulled Lemonade Recipe with HUGE flavor! The brilliant combination of fresh squeezed lemonade and mulling spices makes for a marvelous summer beverage for kids and grownups.
Getting ready for the unofficial first weekend of summer? We are!
I like to kick off summer ona trip to the lake, with friends and family all around. We grill out and take the kids on tube rides. We make s’mores and eatnormally off-limits kiddie cereal late in the morning.
And we drink.
Wait. Let’s back that up… We stay hydrated.
You know you’ve got to stay hydrated when you’re out in the sun all day. *wink*
And after a few empty water bottles we’re all craving something with a little more kick. Even the kids.
So today I’m sharing my latest and greatest Lemonade Recipe… Mulled Lemonade.
That’s Mulled. Not Mold.As in mulling spices?
Contrary to popular opinion, mulling spices are not just blend of spices to use at Christmas. They make all sorts of dishes and beverages come alive with technicolored flavor.
Mulling spicesshould be enjoyed all year long.
The classicblend of mulling spices includes: cinnamon, star anise, ginger, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, and orange peel. However, this blend can be easily tweaked to suit your tastebuds.
For the Mulled Lemonade Recipe I made a quick simple syrup with boiling water and sugar, then added the mulling spices and let them sit and steep for at least 20 minutes.
After that, it’s just a matter of adding more water and fresh lemon juice.
And yes, if you think like we do, our Mulled Lemonade Recipe IS the perfect place to add a little splash of whiskey to sooth sore muscles.
So everyone can enjoy Mulled Lemonade this summer, just the way they like it!

I think this is the quintessential Spicy Perspective recipe – the photo of the lemonade in the glass looks just like the little spice bundle in your blog header! (All of the photos do, but especially the one of the glass.) I’m definitely going to try this. I find lemonade to be a dull drink.
