What type of questions can I ask for strand iii, criterion A and B, according to the recent change in the #LanguageAcquisition guide?I often get asked this question during #IBworkshops. The latest version of the Language Acquisition guide mentions that questions related to strand iii should no longer ask student to make connection between their own experience and the text. Instead, students should reflect on connections between the texts, multimodal or written. The change is particularly relevant for schools going for eAssessment. Attached is a list of possible questions I wrote and shared during my latest workshop.#InternationalBaccalaureate#MiddleYearsProgramme#assessments

There are specific considerations for teaching Language Foundations that are in line with the Science of Reading within the second/additional language education context. In the CEFR Companion Volume (CEFR 2020), there are scales to help guide this work, including the recently updated descriptors for Linguistic Competence. There, you will find scales for vocabulary range, vocabulary control, grammatical accuracy, orthographic control, and phonological control. See Chapter 5 (available in 7 languages on the CEFR website) for more information.https://lnkd.in/eQ7Sf-rn
