How To Meal Prep:

I’ve written a full, in-depth guide to meal prep separately along with around 30 really quick and easy plant-based recipe ideas. However, below is a quick-fire rundown of how meal prep works, and meal prep ideas to help you get the most out of your time and money.

Step 1: Create a weekly meal plan

In order to know how big a batch of each recipe you need to make, I highly recommend making a meal plan and writing out your shopping list before heading to the store.

Make sure you check out my free grocery list templates and meal plans for some easy templates to follow.

Step 2: Set aside time to prep

The people who successfully make meal prep a habit are the ones who make time to meal prep every week. Many people, for example, like to block out lazy Sunday afternoons to spend in the kitchen – you can even multitask and make multiple vegan meal prep recipes at once to save time.

Step 3: Stock up on containers

Once you’ve made all your food for the week, you obviously need somewhere to store it! Make sure you’ve got plenty of Tupperware containers – personally, I love these glass containers as you can stick them in the microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher without ruining them.

Step 4: Keep It Simple

Trying to make three new recipes a day is a sure-fire way to get overwhelmed, spend too much money, and use up far too much of your time. Keep things simple.

Pick one recipe and increase the quantities so you’ll get at least three meals out of it (more if you’re cooking for a partner or your family). If you pick a recipe that you really love, you won’t get as bored of having the same thing a couple of days in a row.
