Publish and be bland!

Mainstream media is still throwing up images of fanatical Muslims wrecking havoc across Europe in response to a few cartoons, while beating its self indulgent chest and trumpeting about freedom of the press.

Bloggers on the other hand, take a much more direct approach.

Imam Ahmad Abu Laban, the leader of the Islamic Society of Denmark apparently touted 3 extra "cartoons" around the Middle-East while whipping up a fanatical frenzy?

One of which apparently portrayed the prophet as a pig.

Squeal like a piggy...

It’s not at all like the 12 cartoons published by Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, on September 30, 2005.

Proving that truth is indeed stranger than satire, it turns out it’s a contestant at the French Pig-Squealing Championships in Trie-sur-Baise’s annual festival.

And what of the two other cartoons?

No doubt a blogger will find out soon enough. Who needs investigative journalism when you can just Google it!

But wait, there is more.

Looks like the original cartoons were published some time ago --- in an Egyptian newspaper. Guess the only thing that stopped Cairo going up in flames was the damn traffic!

And there are even more pictures of Muhammed floating around the internet.

One could hardly expect politicians to support freedom of the press. New Zealand is doing its best, and so far there are no reports of jandels being set alight.

According to Miranda Divine, we bend over backwards to accommodate the intolerant. Although she probably doesn't mean David Fagin over at The Courier-Mail.

Still, she probably has a point. I wonder how long it will be before the likes of Google, Yahoo etc decides to censor these images.

Or is that just a privilege reserved for China?
